Said Abdalla, a resident of Faith Village Apartments, has been awarded two academic scholarships.
One scholarship, the Jack L. Wallick scholarship, was awarded by Wallick Communities. This scholarship is awarded yearly to several Wallick residents and provides up to $2,500 per school year, for up to four years, to help pay the cost of attending college or technical school. The second scholarship was awarded by the National Affordable Housing Management Association’s (NAHMA) Educational Foundation. This scholarship is awarded annually to residents in good standing at an AHMA/NAHMA affiliated apartment community who are either a high school senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5, a general equivalency diploma holder or a student with a minimum GPA of 2.3 at an accredited college or trade/technical school.
These scholarships are helping Said attain skills and credentials that will allow him to fulfill his dream of becoming a web designer and get a better job to support his family.
A special thank you to the Service Coordinator for Faith Village, Ms. Wheeler, who is an associate of Resident Resources Network and works diligently, like other RRN’s Service Coordinators, to connect residents to scholarship opportunities.
If you or someone you know would be a good fit for an academic scholarship, please ask your Service Coordinator about possible opportunities.
